Donations

Support us by sending us cryptocurrency.

If you support our mission and would like to offset the costs associated with hosting this website (as well as help fund new features) you can do so by donating cryptocurrency through one of two ways: earning free crypto (BAT) through Brave browser and sending us some using the tip feature or sending us crypto conventionally from your crypto wallet or exchange. For the latter, see our list of accepted cryptocurrencies below.

How to earn free BAT and send it to us:

  1. Download, install, and launch Brave browser.
  2. Turn on Brave Rewards by clicking the 3 lines (desktop) or 3 dots (mobile) in the upper right, then "Brave rewards", then toggle the switch under "Ads" and set how many curated ads you are willing to receive. From now on, you will earn free crypto every time you receive an ad. Once you have amassed at least 1 BAT, you will be able to tip websites and content creators on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, etc. The amount you have earned will be listed there (for desktop) or under "View Details" (for mobile). The "estimated pending amount" will only be available to use on the next payment date: around the 5th of every month.
  3. Once the 5th of the month arrives, if you have earned at least 1 BAT, you can transfer this amount to your wallet by clicking the "Claim Ad Earnings" button in the same menu.
  4. You can now contribute to this or any other website from the Brave Rewards menu, by clicking the orange triangle tip button next to a URL, or by using the inline tip button in Twitter, Reddit, etc. (The inline button only appears for Twitter, Reddit, and other supported platforms if you're accessing them through Brave browser and will not appear if you're using the Twitter or Reddit apps.) Simply choose your preferred method, click "Send a Tip", select the amount you'd like to donate (1, 5, or 10 BAT), and finalize it by clicking "Send My Tip".

If you already have crypto you can send it to us directly from your exchange or wallet. If you have never done so, see the following guides:

Although the guides are from Binance and Atomic Wallet, sending cryptocurrencies from other exchanges or wallets involves a similar process.

Make sure to always double check the address before sending any crypto, especially if you've never done this before: sending BTC to a LTC address, for example, will cause the crypto to be permanently lost. Only send BTC to a BTC address, LTC to a LTC address, XMR to a XMR address, NEO to a NEO address, etc.

Additionally, there are miner or gas fees (transaction fees) associated with most crypto. If you would like to avoid these, select NEO (which has no gas fees) or LTC (which has extremely low fees).

Finally, if you want to ensure your donation is untraceable, it is recommended that you use XMR as it is a privacy coin. Non-privacy coins like BTC are pseudonymous rather than anonymous. What this means is that, since the blockchain is public, one can theoretically backtrace your public key by looking at transaction history and possibly identify the person behind it. In contrast, XMR uses an opaque blockchain to prevent this from happening. Likewise, Skycoin already has protections in place to protect one's anonymity and promises "soon-to-be-implemented absolute privacy". By the end of 2021, LTC will also become a privacy coin.
